Here are some tips on building a Nervos-based DApp with Morpheus Labs SEED for your project

In this mini-series, we will look at various Partners that Morpheus Labs has linked up with to bring you the insights on why it matters and how it brings options to our valued community. In todays’ partner review, the spotlight would be on Nervos.org. We will give our take on its overall project, vision, mission and position in the blockchain ecosystem.

What is Nervos in Brief?

According to the official Nervos project site –

“The Nervos Network is an open source public blockchain ecosystem and collection of protocols solving the biggest challenges facing blockchains like Bitcoin and Ethereum today.

The Nervos CKB (Common Knowledge Base) is the layer 1, proof of work public blockchain protocol of the Nervos Network. Any crypto-asset can be stored, with the security, immutability and permissionless nature of Bitcoin, while enabling smart contracts, layer 2 scaling, and the capture of total network value through a unique crypto-economic “store of value” design and native token, the CKByte.

The design of the Nervos Network is a sustainably secure, permissionless and decentralized Layer 1 blockchain that is built to scale with Layer 2 solutions, making Nervos the only PoW, multi-asset, store of value, smart contract platform.”

“Nervos CKB is the only PoW multi-asset & store of value general purpose blockchain for the new crypto-economy”

Visualised Vision

As previously mentioned in our previous mini-series, when Morpheus Labs chooses potential partners for tie-ups or collaborations, Morpheus Labs will always ensure the following requirements must be met (not in sequential order)

– S.M.A.R.T goals

– The people driving the project

– Value-adding benefits that compliments Morpheus Labs

This list is certainly non-exhaustive and many other factors come into play when choosing a potential partner.

One of the main draws of the Nervos Project is the team’s desire to continue developing, engaging the blockchain community, showing its willingness to work with developers, openness to feedback among many other positive traits. Nervos vision is concise and it has shown the wider community its commitment.

The Built, Engage and Sustain mindset

Sustaining growth

Morpheus Labs do not partner up with third-party providers simply through a sugar-coated theory. We analyse our partner’s long-term plans and growth model. From trusted sources and through due-diligence, Morpheus Labs has seen the groundwork laid for sustainable growth by Nervos, something we truly value.

Through its Nervos CKB, better known as “common knowledge base”, they are constantly working to ensure a sustainable multi-asset and store value of blockchain. An extract from them –

“Designed to best support on-chain verification and off-chain computation – the Common Knowledge Base (CKB) is an open source, permissionless and Proof of Work secured blockchain that serves as a decentralised custodian of ‘common knowledge’. Designed to provide sustainable security and be a preservation focused, store of asset and store of value blockchain – this allows the CKB to serve as the trust anchor for the entire Nervos Network.”
Identifying and solving Issues

Morpheus Labs are constantly on the lookout to partner with partners who show desire to value-add to the blockchain ecosystem and wider community. The fact that Nervos are trying to constantly identify, research and solve issues is heartening and desirable.

“Features such as decoupling of computation and verification for flexibility and scalability, alignment of SoV and MoE users to incentivise security, sustainable blockchain data growth and consensus optimisation to combat selfish mining are just a few of the issues solved via the Nervos Common Knowledge Base protocol, crypto-economic and Virtual Machine design.”
Openness and willingness to Engage

The fact that it is open source, sharing on Github, willingness to engage external developers shows that the Nervos team is open to learning while contributing. Nervos’ entire project has in fact been revolving around the openness to engage the community, provide value-adding services while learning and growing as a whole.

These traits can be found ingrained in their whitepaper, vision and is plastered all over their main site.

Stakeholder Interests

Furthermore, a special mention must be accredited to the Nervos team. The entire network has been built with all (virtually) stakeholders in mind. This is no easy feat as this process would usually be cumbersome, time-consuming and not to mention, costly. The Nervos team however, pressed on with the entire project with all stakeholders in mind. Native token aligns the interests of all network users

“The CKByte’s unique crypto-economic design make it an ideal use case for Store of Value as well as capturing the total value of the network to increase security and aligning the interests of Users, Miners, Developers and Node operators. It includes a crypto-economic design not just to facilitate transactions, but also for long-term value preservation which scales with network growth and value creation.”

Partner Summary

The Nervos project overall vision, the team behind it and the groundwork laid is certainly impressive and commendable. Nervos has shown positive traits and willingness to engage the blockchain community, value-add to the ecosystem while humble enough to forego profitability and constantly striving to improve and learn as an entire project through engagement.

Morpheus Labs values and appreciates Nervos commitment to the blockchain community. We are certainly proud to say that Nervos is one of our valued partners.
